Lidzbark Warminski War Cemetery
The following notes are taken from an article on the BBC News website.
Peter Francis, from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, explained that during the 1960s the Lidzbark Warminski cemetery deteriorated and access to the site became very difficult, so the decision was taken to commemorate the men at Malbork Commonwealth War Cemetery.
In more recent years the situation changed and the Commonwealth War Graves Commission was able to return to the cemetery. Although it was not possible to identify the individual grave locations, the area where the men were buried was known. The area was levelled and 39 new headstones and a Duhallow Block were installed.
